counsel

Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2026.

1.Overview

counsel is a non-custodial application on a public blockchain. We do not run accounts on your behalf and we never hold your wallet keys. This policy explains the limited data involved in using counsel and how it is handled.

2.On-chain data is public

Bets, resolutions, and payouts are transactions on the XRP Ledger. Like all blockchain activity, they are public, permanent, and outside our control — anyone can read them, and they cannot be deleted. Your wallet address and its activity are therefore inherently public whenever you transact.

3.What we process

  • Your public XRPL address, when you connect a wallet, to display your positions and build unsigned transactions for you to sign.
  • Ledger data we read from public XRPL nodes to render markets, odds, and leaderboards.
  • Basic, aggregate technical logs (e.g. error and performance data from our hosting provider) to keep the service running.

We do not ask for your name, email, or identity documents to use the app, and we never receive your private keys or seed.

4.Local storage on your device

A couple of preferences — which wallet you connected, and your acceptance of the entry gate — are stored locally in your browser, not on our servers. Clearing your browser storage removes them. Your optional display name is not local: it is an on-chain memo you sign yourself, public like any other ledger data.

5.Third parties

Signing goes through your chosen wallet (Xaman, GemWallet, or Crossmark) under their own terms and privacy policies. We read the ledger through public XRPL RPC nodes and host the interface with a cloud provider. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

6.Cookies & analytics

We keep tracking to a minimum. Any analytics we use are aggregate and intended only to understand reliability and usage, not to profile individuals.

7.Children

counsel is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly process their data.

8.Changes & contact

We may update this policy as the product evolves; material changes will be reflected here with a new date. Questions: counsel.markets@gmail.com.
